Tanvirul Islam

Senior Reporter (Investigation), Kaler Kantho

Tanvirul Islam is a Senior Reporter (Investigation) at Kaler Kantho, one of Bangladesh's leading national dailies. With more than a decade of experience in journalism, he has built a distinguished career in investigative reporting, public affairs, health journalism, and development-related issues.

Before joining Kaler Kantho, Tanvirul served as a Senior Reporter at Dhaka Post for nearly six years, where he produced a wide range of impactful reports on governance, public policy, corruption, health, and social issues. Earlier, he worked for three years at Ekushey Television (ETV), one of the country's prominent television channels. He also served as a staff reporter at the health-focused news outlet MediVoice for two and a half years and began his journalism journey as a contributor to The Daily Jugantor.

In addition to his reporting career, Tanvirul worked as a District Coordinator of Jugantor Sojon Samabesh from 2012 to 2014, contributing to youth-engagement and social-development initiatives.

Throughout his career, Tanvirul Islam has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions for excellence in journalism, including the Family Planning Media Award (2022), the Meena Media Award (2023), and the BDF Media Award (2024). His work is widely recognized for its depth, accuracy, and commitment to public-interest journalism.

Tanvirul contributes to BHRF’s ongoing programmes including the Rural Health Reporting Fellowship, ethical-reporting workshops, and policy advocacy at the parliamentary standing committee on health.
